To carve a pumpkin, you first need to make a hole in the top. Then clean the pumpkin in the interior and scoop out seed and pulp from inside of your pumpkin. The most common carving patterns for Halloween are ghost faces, spiders, flapping bats, witches, witches hat, skeletons and false blood. Stick the cut pattern to the pumpkin with an adhesive, tape or pins. Then, make holes in the pumpkin with a nail and push pin or pumpkin poker.


Once you have made the holes along the outline of the pattern remove the paper from the pumpkin and spread chalk powder to clearly see the holes. Then, using a carving tool, you can carve the pattern. You can also make use of crayons and paints to make extra features like eyes, nose, mouth and hair.


After carving the complete pattern from the pumpkin, decorate the pumpkin as you desire. This completes a thrilling and fascinating fun craft.
